!sr why are people abusing the #reportspam button and using it on regular legit bloggers on !identica?
-
@rootbrian some ppl might want to not see dents from some ppl, but don't know how 2 use ignore so they block them & autospamreport in effect
-
That truly sucks when abused. :(
-
@rootbrian there's a simple fix for that - do not auto flag the user when blocking and it's done ;-)
-
Are you referring to the 'flag' button on a profile, or the 'mark as spam' that's recently appeared on individual notices?
-
the Mark As Spam ones on individual notices.
-
@rootbrian that's a #bayesianfilter introduced with #activityspam #plugin -> http://status.net/wiki/Plugin:ActivitySpam #wiki. train it! ;)
-
Is it definitely people marking incorrectly, or the algorithm getting things wrong? if it's getting false positives, correct it :)
-
@rootbrian in other words, maybe noone is abusing the button but the filter has to 'learn' better what spam is and what not so 'clear spam'.
-
I already unmarked 8 tweets from 8 twitter accounts that tweeted to identica.
-
agreed
-
Thanks, that's exactly what we need.
-
Oh, also: lots of spammers use the feed mirror thing. That's why other folks seem "similar" to the spam filter.
-
ah yeah, I examine those spammers allot. Just to be sure it isn't just some tweeter.
-
Is that what that bullet is on the right? Doesn't indicate to me that it's to mark things as spam. Seems more like a "more options" link.
-
The "clear spam" button does not work for me. I have this message: "You cannot review spam on this site." !identica
-
I undid the two marked as spam notices.
-
@b0uts maybe clearing spam is up to modhelpers? don't know yet. #activityspam #plugin http://status.net/wiki/Plugin:ActivitySpam #wiki
